Fabrizio Romano states that Jackson will join Bayern on loan for the season, with Chelsea pocketing a €15 million (£13m) fee. He adds that the Blues have inserted a €80m (£69m) buy option into the deal and there is a sell-on clause, too.

Jackson fell out of favour at Chelsea towards the tail end of last season following some indisciplined performances. He has since become third choice in the striker pecking order behind summer signings Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, and just when it looked like the Senegal international would be on the fringes at Stamford Bridge, he is set to secure a dream move to Bayern. However, he is likely to be second choice behind prolific marksman, Harry Kane.

Jackson, who still has a whopping eight years left on his Chelsea contract, joined the Blues from Villarreal in 2023 and has had a hit-and-miss spell at Stamford Bridge. The striker, who helped the west London team win the Conference League earlier this year, has scored 30 goals and added 12 assists in 81 appearances in all competitions.
