Survivalist Caches are the first set of collectibles that players can grab through Kairos, as they are all located in the Fadefields. There are 10 Survivalist Caches in Borderlands 4, and while opening them is as simple as interacting with the box to kick them open for an abundance of random weapons and gear, along with SDU Tokens, finding them is another story. Of the 10 available, most can be found in different POIs, but some have more obscured approaches to discovery. As such, we’ve listed the locations and walkthroughs so you can find every Survivalist Cache in Borderlands 4 with ease.
Each Survivalist Cache grants 10 SDU Tokens, and upon collecting all 10, you will be rewarded with the Never Say DIY Weapon Skin from the Cache to Spend Challenge.
How to Find the Coastal Bonescape Survivalist Cache #1 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #1 Location
From the very first Safehouse, the Abandoned Outpost in the Coastal Bonescape, you’ll want to take a sharp right to head east. Follow east long enough to reach the Haywire Shire POI. This small campsite is riddled with Rippers, but feel free to ignore them. You’re going to want to head behind the house in the south to find the Survivalist Cache just above it on the hill.

Survivalist Cache #2 Location
Once again, start from the Abandoned Post Safehouse in Coastal Bonescape, the first location available after the main mission’s prologue. Exit the main door and head west through the forest, past the Pool of Re-Flex-tion. You’ll come across another Ripper outpost, where the Survivalist Cache can be found within the rundown bridge building. Players can climb the tractor to mantle the floorboards that will lead them into the roof, so that they can grab the Survivalist Cache inside.
How to Find the Coastal Bonescape Survivalist Cache #3 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #3 Location
Continue on the west path from the Abandoned Post Safehouse in the Coastal Bonescape to reach Harper’s Hideaway. At this POI, continue west to where the land meets the sea to find the Sarrett’s Jetty POI. Just in front of the destroyed ship, when facing west, is the Survivalist Cache that players can now open, along with a few hostile Rippers that can be ignored.
How to Find The Howl Survivalist Cache #1 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #4 Location
For this Survivalist Cache, start in the Launchpad, the Faction Town containing the Outbounders. Head out of the Fast Travel bunker to ground level and immediately journey to the west, where you’ll come across the Gushing Turret. At this POI, look to the west of the Gushing Turret with the clear running water, and you’ll see two sewer grates, with the one on the right accessible. Enter the open grate and mantle up to the surface after swimming to find the Survivalst Cache in the first room on the right.
How to Find The Howl Survivalist Cache #2 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #5 Location
Head north west, either from the Launchpad or The Kit Hole Order Silo in The Howl region, to find a forest with a rock wall blocking your path to the Survivalist Cache. Hug the cliff’s wall and venture to the north west corner (pictured above) to find a hole in the wall that you can enter through. Through this hole is a Thresher cave, and you can follow the linear path north, and loop around the back to the left via a grapple point to reach higher ground. From this raised surface, follow south to find a Red Chest, and then jump past it to the right to find the Survivalist Cache.
How to Find The Howl Survivalist Cache #3 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #6 Location
Starting from the Rootdown Estates Fast Travel Station in the Howl, players can head out the gap in the wall and head north east to find Ripper structures in the cave’s edge. Climb the wall to the left of this structure to get inside, where you will need to kill every Ripper inside the cave. There are a lot of Rippers to fight, and you will need to kill them all until they stop spawning. Upon the death of the final Ripper, the door located at the south east corner of the cave will be unlocked, and you will be able to find the Survivalist Cache just opposite the now unlocked Red Chest.
How to Find the Idolato's Noose Survivalist Cache #1 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #7 Location
Idolator’s Noose is the Fadefields region, where players can find the next Survivalist Cache. To start, head to the Someday Rise Safehouse and exit through the front door to head south, past the grapple point. Continue on the path across this mountain, and you’ll soon find a campsite with the Survivalist Cache waiting for you.
How to Find the Idolato's Noose Survivalist Cache #2 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #8 Location
Head to the far south west of Idolator’s Noose, and you will eventually reach Racketrun, a POI covered in Rippers. At the back of Racketrun, players can find a wall that they can climb, and once they’ve reached the top, head to the left inside a small shack where this Survivalist Cache is located.
How to Find the Idolato's Noose Survivalist Cache #3 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #9 Location
This Survivalist Cache is located in the south east region of Idolator’s Noose. We started our journey from the Wyclef’s Reprise Safehouse, which is just on the edge of Dissected Plateau on the border of Idolator’s Noose. Exit through the north doors and immediately loop around to the south, and venture down into the swamp. This will take you to the Boglight Vigilance POI, where you will want to follow the road and path through the Ripper territory to reach the back. At the back of this POI is a crashed Order ship, and inside the Order ship is a Survivalist Cache.
How to Find the Dissected Plateau Survivalist Cache #1 in Borderlands 4
Survivalist Cache #10 Location
Head to the Deep Seven Order Silo in the Dissected Plateau (find out how to access the Order Silo here). Now, drop down from the south and head east, where just a short walk away, you’ll find an abandoned farm. With the Survivalist Cache marked on the map, head east of its icon to find a small hole with a sewer grate with an opening. Enter the sewer grate and slide through to find this Survivalist Cache inside.
